Messaging Lists Overview
Messaging Lists provide Artists a convenient way to group fans together that they want to frequently send messages to. A great way to utilize Messaging Lists is to put groups of fans together that like to purchase a specific type of content.
For example, let’s say that 25 fans frequently purchase your Foot Fetish content. You could group these 25 fans into a Messaging List called “Foot Fetish Fans” and then frequently send Foot Fetish PTV messages to them. Messaging Lists make it convenient to target specific fans on your contacts list.
Your Messaging Lists are accessible from anywhere within Message Center. The Messaging Lists area is located in the bottom left in the sidebar menu. You will see a “Create New List +” button and all of your Messaging Lists below.
Creating a New Messaging List
To create a new Messaging List, first click on “Create New List +”. You can click anywhere within the red outline to initiate this action.
You will be brought to a new page where you will give the Messaging List a title and select the fans to be added to the list.
Creating a Title for a Messaging List
The first step in creating a new Messaging List is to name the list. You can give the list any title you want. We suggest naming the list based on similarities of the fans in the list (e.g. Boot Lovers, Gooners, etc.). Note that all Messaging Lists must have a unique name – you cannot have 2 lists with the same name.
To add the title, click inside the text field in the top left and type the name you’d like. This title will be saved once we click “Create” in the top right. But before doing so, you will need to add fans to the list.
Selecting Fans for a Messaging List
On the left side of the “Create New List” page is a list of fans that are on your Contacts list. By default, the list is sorted in alphabetical order. To sort the list by other ways, click the “Sort by” button in the top right of the Fans list and you will see a dropdown of the different sort options:
Alphabetical
Recently Active
Additionally, you can search for a specific fan to add by clicking in the search bar and typing their username.
Once you see a user you want to add to the list, click their name and they will be shifted from the “Fans list” on the left side to the “Selected Fans” list on the right.
You can search through your Selected Fans list by clicking on the search bar at the top and typing the name of the user. If no results appear for the user you searched for, it’s possible that you didn’t add them to the list – check the “Fans list” side for the user.
To remove a user from the Selected Fans list, click on the “x” located to the left of their username. They will be removed from the Selected Fans list and appear back on the Fans list.
Artists will only be able to add a maximum of 1000 users to a Messaging List.
If you’ve selected several fans and want to start your list over again, you can click “Clear all selected”. This action will remove all the fans in the Selected Fans list so that you can start over.
Once you have given your Messaging List a title and have added at least 1 fan, click “Create” at the top left. Click “Cancel” to cancel the entire creation process and return back to the last page you were on before coming to the Create Messaging List page.
After clicking “Create”, a confirmation popup will appear stating that you have successfully created your Messaging List.
