Age Verification
Users from Countries and/or States will be directed to a splash page that has options for the user to either sign in to bypass or to navigate to the age verification process.
If a member from a banned location attempts to login from the sign on page, they will be redirected back to the splash page. You will need to verify your age to access the site.
Members with an existing Age Token (browser cookie) will skip the splash page and redirect to the IWC homepage.
Once a member clicks "Verify My Age", they will be redirected to the page below where they can choose how they'd like to verify their age.
When scanning your ID, you will need to first confirm:
- Issuing Country
- Document Type
You will then be prompted to either upload a file of the ID or you can use your camera to take a picture of the ID.
If Yoti can't confirm your age, you will be redirected back to the splash page and see the following popup message.

Question: Why do I need to verify my age?
Answer: We follow state and federal laws that require us to check the age of anyone accessing certain content on our site. This helps make sure underage users do not see content that is 18+.
Question: Are the documents I send stored or saved anywhere?
Answer: No personally identifiable information is shared, as YOTI deletes all your personal information as soon as the age check results are shared with our site.
Question: What if my location can't be checked?
Answer: If we can't confirm where you are, you'll be able to access the site without age verification.
Question: What's an Age Token?
Answer: An Age Token is a digital note (cookie) saved in your browser after you've verified your age. It lets you skip the age verification process the next time you access the site as long as you are using the same browser and/or the token (cookie) has not expired or been deleted.
Question: Can I use an Age Token from another site?
Answer: Yes, but only if you verified your age with a government ID on that site. Tokens from other methods won't transfer over.
Question: What happens when my token expires?
Answer: You will need to verify your age, again.
Question: Which states or countries require age checks?
Answer: You can check this list to see if your location is included.
Question: What if I'm trying to verify from a device without a camera?
Answer: YOTI will provide a QR code to scan so you can submit an upload.
Question: What happens if Yoti times out on me during the verification process?
Answer: You will need to clear your cookies which will reset the process.
